Intro to Builder

Builder is designed to deliver a flexible and intuitive experience for building powerful data queries. You can easily create Entity and Insight pairs for example, pairing Walmart with Credit Card Spend, or Netflix with Website Traffic and much more.

We have introduced a unified Entity-and-Insight search layout designed to reduce steps, preserve context, and streamline framework creation. You can now pivot between Entities and Insights, view compatible pairings in a single surface, sort by Featured entities or Insights, access Favorites directly in the workflow and more. The new layout collapses the distance between discovery and analysis, making Builder faster, clearer, and significantly easier to use.

What's new in Builder 2.0?

  • Multi-Insight workflows: Purchase and layer multiple Entity–Insight pairs into a single time-series view.
  • Saved Favorites: Save your go-to filters, searches, entities, and insights using the Favorites and Save controls.
  • Better sorting: A new “Featured” sort surfaces the most relevant and interesting entities and insights curated by Carbon Arc.

You now start from either an Entity or an Insight and immediately see all compatible options through ontology-driven validation. A unified search bar and inline filters have been added to keep orientation as you pivot.

Once you’ve selected your Entity–Insight pairing, the new Configure & Buy page lets you tailor the parameters of your query to exactly what you need. You’ll see a spot price for only the data you’ve configured and can purchase directly or make quick edits using the new inline edit options to refine your framework before checkout.

From the Configure page, you can set detailed filters in your Cart, including:

  • Spatial filters such as ZIP codes, DMAs, states, countries, or even national roll-ups
  • Temporal filters like daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly aggregations
  • Date ranges to focus on relevant time periods
  • More dimensions such as payment methods, subscription types, and other user-specific criteria
  • + many more depending on your framework

No, Builder 2.0 will be replacing 1.0.

Why did you redesign?

To remove friction in v1: too many steps, lost context, high cognitive load, and repeated rebuilding.

How do I start a framework?

Click on the Builder button, select a journey and search for either an Entity or an Insight to get started

Can I use Entity-first or Insight-first flows?

Yes both are supported and you can pivot between the journeys at any time.

Can I layer multiple Entity and Insights into one purchase

Yes. You can now layer multiple Entities and Insights into one timeseries.

Can I save my favorite pairs?

Yes, try out Favorites, now built into the main workflow.

Will my v1 frameworks carry over?

Of course! Builder 2.0 is a cosmetic design change only
